Terms of Service

Quick Summary: By using Snaplook, you agree to follow these terms and use the service responsibly. We provide visual fashion search on an "as is" basis.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Snaplook mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

Snaplook ("we," "us," or "our") is based in Norway. You can contact us at support@snaplook.app.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area)
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • If using the Service on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms
  • You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Creating an Account

To use Snaplook, you must create an account using one of the following methods:

  • Apple Sign-In
  • Google Sign-In
  • Email one-time code authentication

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach at support@snaplook.app

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

4.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including but not limited to its visual design, software code, algorithms, user interface, databases, trademarks, logos, and all content provided by Snaplook, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
  • Use our trademarks, service marks, or branding without prior written permission
  • Access or use the Service to build a competitive product or service

4.2 Limited License to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.

5. User Content and License

5.1 Your Content

"User Content" means any photos, images, links, feedback, suggestions, or other materials you upload, share, or submit through the Service. You retain all ownership rights in your User Content.

5.2 License Grant

By uploading or sharing User Content, you grant Snaplook a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to:

  • Process, analyze, and display your User Content to provide visual search results
  • Store and reproduce User Content as necessary to operate the Service
  • Use User Content to train, test, and improve our AI models and algorithms
  • Create derivative works based on User Content for the purpose of providing and enhancing the Service

This license exists only for the limited purpose of operating, developing, and improving the Service. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

5.3 Your Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to upload and share your User Content
  • Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights (including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights)
  • Your User Content complies with these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms or for any other reason, with or without notice.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

6.1 Prohibited Activities

  • Violate laws: Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law
  • Infringe rights: Upload content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person
  • Harmful content: Upload content that is offensive, abusive, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable
  • Impersonation: Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Spam or advertising: Use the Service to send unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or spam
  • Malware: Upload viruses, malware, or any other malicious code or files
  • Scraping: Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from the Service
  • Interference: Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue burden on the Service or its infrastructure
  • Unauthorized access: Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or systems
  • Commercial use: Use the Service for commercial purposes without our prior written consent
  • Circumvention: Bypass any security features, access controls, or usage limits of the Service

6.2 Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate violations of these Terms and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating your access to the Service, removing content, and reporting illegal activity to law enforcement.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

7.1 Subscription Plans

Snaplook offers subscription plans billed monthly or annually. All subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store (the "App Stores").

7.2 Free Trials

We may offer free trial periods for new subscribers. Unless you cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee.

7.3 Billing and Renewals

  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
  • You will be charged through your App Store account
  • Subscription fees are charged in advance for each billing period
  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice

7.4 Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device settings:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → Snaplook
  • Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Snaplook

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access until that date. We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods. Refund requests are handled by the App Stores and subject to their policies.

7.5 Credits

Paid subscribers receive 100 search credits per month. Credits reset on the 1st day of each calendar month and do not roll over to the next month. If your subscription is cancelled or expires, unused credits are forfeited.

8. Service Availability and Modifications

8.1 Service Changes

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
  • Change features, functionality, or pricing with reasonable notice
  • Impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Service

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes, but we are not liable for any modifications, suspensions, or discontinuations.

8.2 Maintenance and Downtime

The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues. We are not responsible for any disruption, delay, or loss resulting from downtime.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services, including retailer websites for purchasing fashion items. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them, and are governed by their terms and privacy policies.

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from third-party services, including product quality, pricing, availability, shipping, or returns.

10. Disclaimers and Warranties

10.1 "As Is" and "As Available"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of search results
  • Warranties that defects will be corrected or that the Service is free of viruses or harmful components

10.2 AI Search Results Disclaimer

Snaplook uses artificial intelligence to provide visual search results. We do not guarantee that:

  • Search results will be accurate, complete, or relevant
  • Products shown are in stock or available for purchase
  • Prices, descriptions, or images from retailers are current or correct
  • Results match exactly the items you are searching for

You rely on search results at your own risk. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on the information provided by the Service.

10.3 No Professional Advice

The Service is for informational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute professional advice (fashion, shopping, or otherwise). You should not rely solely on the Service for important purchasing decisions.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 Exclusion of Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPLOOK, ITS OPERATORS, AND ITS SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

11.2 Cap on Liability

Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11.3 Exceptions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Snaplook, its operators, affiliates, partners, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law
  • Your User Content or any infringement of third-party rights
  • Your negligence or willful misconduct

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  • Tapping the Profile icon on the tab bar, scrolling to the bottom, and tapping "Delete Account"
  • Emailing us at support@snaplook.app

13.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if:

  • You violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Your account has been inactive for an extended period
  • We are required to do so by law or legal process
  • Continuing to provide the Service creates risk or liability for us

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service immediately ceases
  • Your User Content may be deleted (though we may retain copies as required by law or for legitimate business purposes)
  • Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including Sections 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, and 14) will remain in effect

14. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

14.2 Informal Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@snaplook.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will do the same. Both parties will make good-faith efforts to resolve the dispute within 60 days.

14.3 Jurisdiction and Venue

If informal resolution fails, any legal action arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service must be brought in the courts of Norway, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.

14.4 Class Action Waiver

To the extent permitted by law, you agree that any dispute with Snaplook will be resolved on an individual basis. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Snaplook regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, or representations.

15.2 Amendments

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Notify you via email or through a prominent notice in the app
  • Provide at least 30 days' notice before changes take effect

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and may request a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees.

15.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15.4 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. No waiver will be effective unless made in writing.

15.5 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction (including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets).

15.6 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, government actions, internet or telecommunications failures, or third-party service outages.

15.7 Notices

We may provide notices to you via email to the address associated with your account, through in-app notifications, or by posting on our website. You agree that electronic notices satisfy any legal requirement that notices be in writing.

15.8 No Partnership

These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Snaplook.

15.9 Third-Party Beneficiaries

These Terms do not confer any rights or remedies upon any person other than you and Snaplook.
